Partnership with American Cancer Society: Colorectal Cancer.
A new partnership with the American Cancer Society and clinicians throughout the Wabash Valley is focused on impacting and improving colorectal cancer screenings and cancer rates in Indiana’s Health District 7.
This effort aims to help identify barriers to CRC screenings and follow up. District 7 has the worst colorectal cancer incidence in Indiana as well as the CRC mortality rate. Six of the eight in the Wabash Valley are in the bottom 25% for ranking health factors (including screenings). The Lugar Center in partnership with the American Cancer Society, Union and Regional Hospitals, Valley Professionals and Wabash Valley Community Health Centers, Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, Hux Cancer Center, Clay City Center for Family Medicine, and other partners are focused on the why's and how's to improve colorectal screenings and rates in the Wabash Valley.
Please contact the Lugar Center if you are interested in being part of this initiative.
