Matthew Herrick recognized by Environmental Health Association

Prior to joining the Lugar Center for Rural Team, Matthew Herrick was the health administrator for the Sullivan County Health Department. In rural southwestern Indiana, Matthew received grant funds to purchase a mosquito sprayer with chemicals and a new truck for the same department. he provided community outreach service by holding a joint onsite sewage system meeting with ISDH for homeowners and installers. With the Sullivan County Health Department, Matt was able to update the county ordinances and helped coordinate the health department moving into a new location.

All of these accomplishments were recognized by the Indiana Environmental Health Association by awarding him with the Rookie of the Year Award at their annual conference at the end of September (pictured above). The Lugar Center for Rural Health Team would like to extend the congratulations to Matthew for him being recognized for his outstanding work in serving rural Hoosier.
