Lugar Center in D.C. for NRHA Policy Institute

The National Rural Health Association’s 29th annual Rural Health Policy Institute brought 400 rural health advocates together in D.C. in early February. Staff from the Richard G. Lugar Center for Rural Health were joined by a Union Hospital Family Medicine Resident, Dr. Nate Hall, two fourth year medical students from Indiana University School of Medicine-Terre Haute, Adam Rudolph and Mike Keller, and a third year Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine student, Arrianne Whittaker.

Michael Keller, MS4, is from Winamac, IN and aspires to become a family physician and provide full spectrum primary care to a rural community in Indiana.

Adam Rudolph, MS4, grew up on a small family owned farm in southern Indiana. His goal is to work in a rural community by not only providing healthcare but working to improve the community in sustainable ways as well.

Arrianne Whittaker, OMS3, is currently a 3rd year at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine and a professed sister of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Ind. She strives to devote her ministry as a doctor to bridging the healthcare access gap that persists for vast populations across this country, particularly those in rural and underserved areas.

Nate Hall, MD, PGY1, is originally from Madison, Indiana. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN, he is currently a first year Family Medicine Resident at Union Hospital.
